Instant messaging is a good tool for contacting friends, family or other contacts. Faster then e-mail because you are actually communicating with another person instead of waiting for a return message. The Buddy List is fun when you are surprised when someone is on line at the same time and starts talking with you. The Chat Room is a broader version when several people can communicate at the same time.

Searching for library related blogs

What I found about finding library related blogs was one of the sites listed all the articles and the other one was broken down into sections such as: videos, photos, blog entries. This I feel, makes it easier for searching purposes.

This is a new way to get information quickly without opening many pages. Saving time is another factor with all of our busy schedules. It is a new way to look at instant and updated information.

As a new medium for personal use it will be a new adventure to practice.

Library 2.0

The differences in library services from years ago is that patron had to use books for resources and sifting through catalog cards for information. Today's technology has brought patrons into a new world of research. Patron have a wider range of resources to them to expand their learning.

Habits

The easiest habit for me is teaching others on things I've learned myself first. This gives me confidence on what to pass on to others.

The hardest habit for me is learning things that I'm not familiar with such as technology. Technology changes too quickly for me to learn it fluently - I feel I'm always behind and get overwhelmed.
